Born and raised in South Florida, Winston started her journalism career at the Independent Florida Alligator while studying at the University of Florida. She interned at various media outlets across the country including The Gainesville Sun, ABC News in Washington, D.C., and was a 2013 reporting fellow for News21, a Carnegie-Knight national investigative journalism project, in Phoenix, Ariz. She joined The Post in 2014.
