Wellington routs Coral Springs to claim boys hoops championship

The Wellington boys basketball team won the The Rock Championship Saturday night with a 74-58 victory over Coral Springs.

Bryan Williams scored a team-high 24 points, Jonathan Philistin had 13 points and seven rebounds, and Linton Brown added 18 points for the Wolverines.

Williams was named the tournament’s MVP, while Nico Toledo and Philistin were named to the All-Tournament Team. Wellington improved to 14-0.

Forest Hill 97, Inlet Grove 61: The Falcons routed the Hurricanes to win the Forest Hill Classic Tournament. Phillip Lyttle had 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and six steals for Forest Hill, while D’ante Daniels added 11 points, six assists and three steals. The Falcons improved to 12-1.

Boca Raton 74, Wekiva 65: Cade Long scored 26 points, and Max Demeus added 21 points for the Bobcats in their win over the Mustangs at the Charger Classic.

North Broward Prep 51, Spanish River 48: Jashone Anderson scored 19 points and added eight rebounds for the Sharks (10-3) in their loss to the Eagles at The Rock Holiday tournament.
