Softball: King’s Academy improves to 7-0

Hannah Federico had three hits, including a triple, and struck out nine on the mound helping the undefeated King’s Academy softball team to a 5-4 victory over Benjamin on Thursday in Palm Beach Gardens.

Mareta Eberhardt added two hits for the Lions (7-0).

Palm Beach Gardens 19, John I. Leonard 1: Danielle Deaton (2-0) struck out five in three innings, Riley Burns was 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBIs and Brooke Mathews went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI as the Gators (5-2) overpowered the Lancers in Greenacres.

Santaluces 13, Boynton Beach 3: Samantha Keller had a single, a double, two walks, and two RBIs, Aly Cooley added a double and two RBIs and Aaliyah Cecilio contributed two hits with two RBIs and struck out eight in five innings as the Chiefs (4-4) routed the Tigers in Lantana.

Seminole Ridge 6, Olympic Heights 5 (10): Megan Froelich struck out seven in a complete game and Karie Abel and Kayla Wright each were 3-for-5 as the Hawks edged the Lions in Loxahatchee.

Wellington 14, Spanish River 6: Sarah Longley was 5-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs, Bailey Cain was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, Raegan Conley was 3-for-5 with an RBI and Dani Farley pitched struck out seven in four innings as the Wolverines (7-0) defeated the Sharks (5-2) in Boca Raton. Mckenzie Enno was 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored and an RBI for Spanish River.

Lake Worth Christian 5, Trinity Christian 3: Ariana Marton (2-0) struck out 12 and had two stolen bases, Angelina Adolphy was 4-for-4 with an RBI and Becca Ross went 3-for-3 with an RBI as the Defenders (2-0) defeated the Warriors in Boynton Beach.

American Heritage 20, Cardinal Newman 3: Eliza Herbst was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, but the Crusaders fell to the Stallions.


Suncoast 5, Fort Pierce Westwood 1: Johnny Amonica struck out six in relief, Kyle Evans was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Jack Stafford went 2-for-4 as the Chargers handled the Panthers in Fort Pierce.
