Softball: No. 1 Jupiter stops Cardinal Newman


Rachel Frankhouser and Ashley Goebel each drove in a run and scored a run, leading the top-ranked Jupiter softball team to a 7-2 victory over Cardinal Newman on Tuesday in West Palm Beach.

With the victory, the Warriors improved to 10-1 on the season.

Maggie Foley was 2-for-3 with a home run for Newman.

No. 2 Palm Beach Gardens 3, Cooper City 2: Crystal Grimaldo was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs and Calia Kentoffio went 2-for-4 with a run scored as the Gators (8-1) edged the Cobras in Cooper City.

No. 6 Park Vista 11, Boca Raton 6: Cassidy Trimble was 2-for-4 with a double; Olivia Zehl went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Nicole Zumbaca hit a two-run homer as the Cobras (8-2) defeated the Bobcats.

John I. Leonard 13, Santaluces 8: Elizabeth Rambo was 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs and Kayla Bruno doubled and tripled as the Lancers (3-6) defeated the Chiefs.

West Boca Raton 9, Olympic Heights 2: Jordyn Lyman was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and Kayla Joaquim had a hit and two RBIs as the Bulls (5-5) defeated the Lions in Boca Raton.

Lake Worth Christian 15, Grandview Prep 0: Geneva Alpert was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored and Morgan Shedd went 4-for-4 with atriple, an RBI and three runs scored as the Defenders (4-0) routed the Pride (0-1). Katelyn Robine struck out seven on the mound for Lake Worth Christian.
