Roundup: Dwyer baseball team improves to 6-2


Trevor Omans struck out five in five innings, leading the Dwyer baseball team to a 5-0 shutout of Jensen Beach on Monday in Palm Beach Gardens.

Charlie Von Werne added a double for the Panthers (6-2).

Somerset Canyons 9, Lake Worth Christian 1: Trey Newland was 4-for-5 with two runs scored, Justin Anglin went 3-for-5 with a double and Bryan Ariza was 2-for-5 with a triple as the Cougars (5-1) handled the Defenders in Lake Worth.

BOYS LACROSSE

King’s Academy 15, John I. Leonard 0: Chris Erneston had five goals and two assists, Michael Kolkana added three goals and an assist and Tommy Null earned his first shutout as the Lions (4-1) rolled over the Lancers in West Palm Beach.

Oxbridge 17, Wellington 2: Reece Riccardo scored five goals, Connor Davies added three goals and four assists, and Hunter Diamond had six saves as the ThunderWolves (5-0) overpowered the Wolverines in West Palm Beach.

GIRLS LACROSSE

St. John Paul II 12, Spanish River 11: Katie Trainor scored five goals, Madison Kennedy added three goals, including the game-winner with 1:17 left, and Danielle Farinas also had a hat trick as the Eagles (2-2) edged the Sharks in Boca Raton.

St. Andrew’s 22, Davie-University School 5: Piper Braden had five goals and five assists, Devyn Crone added three goals and three assists and Marlie Weprin contributed two goals and three assists as the Scots (6-0) routed the Suns in Davie.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Boynton Beach 33, Oxbridge 12: Glory Noel scored three touchdowns, including a interception return for a score, as the Tigers (1-0) handled the ThunderWolves in Boynton Beach.

Olympic Heights 19, Inlet Grove 6: Megan Manning threw touchdown passes to Isabella Gagnon, Sara Pinheiro and Victoria Barreto, and to Julia Oliveira for an extra point, and Barreto and Soshi Halperin each added an interception as the Lions (1-0) handled the Hurricanes in Boca Raton.
