Girls basketball: Lake Worth rolls over Royal Palm Beach


Kayleigh Taylor had 15 points, four steals, and two assists, leading the Lake Worth girls basketball team to a 51-15 rout of Royal Palm Beach on Tuesday night in Lake Worth.

Recilia Nonombre added 11 points, five steals and six assists and Markadala Theophile contributed 10 points for the Trojans (1-1).

John I. Leonard 56, Village Academy 23: Aja Gregg had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, leading the Lancers (2-0) over the Tigers in Delray Beach. Zaida Gonzalez added 12 points, three rebounds and four assists and Kim St. Louis contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and three steals for Leonard.

Oxbridge 51, Port St. Lucie-Centennial 43: Aaliyah Stanley had 15 points and nine rebounds and Kaylon Smith added 12 points, leading the Thunderwolves (1-0) over the Eagles.

Lake Worth Christian 60, Inlet Grove 7: JodiBeth Elardo had 14 points and 10 assists and Jillian Schenk added 10 points as the Defenders (1-0) rolled over the Hurricanes in Boynton Beach.

St. Andrew’s 54, Somerset Canyons 14: Nicole Whitaker scored 20 points and Sydney Rieland added 10 as the Scots coasted past the Cougars in Boca Raton.

Pompano Beach-Highlands Christian 46, Berean Christian 34: Rachel Perez made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points and Jenna Brannon added eight points, but the Bulldogs (0-2) fell to the Knights in Pompano Beach.

Palm Beach Lakes 86, Wellington 57: Brittany Wilcox had 22 points, 15 rebounds and four assists, Keishmy Ayuso added 21 points and four steals and Rashara Simmons contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and six steals as the Rams routed the Wolverines late Monday in West Palm Beach. Mia Jonesmade five 3-pointers and scored 25 points to lead Wellington.
