Boys soccer: John I. Leonard avances to district final

Luis Molena and Juan Cardoza each scored two goals, leading top-seeded John I. Leonard to a 4-1 victory over fifth-seeded Santaluces in a District 11-5A boys soccer semifinal in Lake Worth.

With the victory, the Lancers improved to 16-1 on the season and advanced to Friday’s district championship match against second-seeded Royal Palm Beach.

Royal Palm Beach 2, Lake Worth 1 (OT): Rick Chrysostome tied the match with eight minutes remaining in regulation and Tajae Morgan scored in overtime as the Wildcats (16-5-3) escaped the third-seeded Trojans (13-4-3) in the District 11-5A semifinals in Lake Worth. Vincente DeBrito assisted on both goals for Royal Palm.

King’s Academy 1, Benjamin 0: Adrian Boettger scored on Zelden Saint Surin’s assist as the second-seeded Lions edged the third-seeded Buccaneers in a District 13-3A semifinal in West Palm Beach.

American Heritage 8, Oxbridge Academy 0: Douglas Phillips scored three goals and Therdens Conserve added two goals as the top-seeded Stallions rolled over the fourth—seeded ThunderWolves in a District 13-3A semifinal in West Palm Beach.

Jupiter Christian 1, Trinity Christian 0: Angel Canon had 17 saves and two penalty kicks, as the fourth-seeded Eagles upset the top-seeded Warriors in the District 11-1A semifinals in Boynton Beach.
