Authorities investigate shooting near South Florida Fairgrounds

Boys soccer districts: Leonard, Royal Palm, Lake Worth, Atlantic win


District 11-5A

John I. Leonard 3, Wellington 1: Regner Guillen had two goals and Jonathan Diaz had one goal and one assist as the top-seeded Lancers (15-1) handled the eighth-seeded Wolverines in Greenacres.

Royal Palm Beach 5, Dreyfoos 3: Emanuel Arroyaze scored one goal and had two assists, Reggie Pierre added two goals, and Brando Marcus contributed one goal and one assist as the second-seeded Wildcats (15-5-3) handled the seventh-seeded Jaguars in Royal Palm Beach. The Wildcats will face Lake Worth in a semifinals matchup Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Lake Worth 3, Palm Beach Central 2: The third-seeded Trojans got past the sixth-seeded Broncos in Lake Worth.

District 12-5A

Atlantic 2, Coral Springs 1: John Nalus and Schimiliguen Castin each scored a goal as the fourth-seeded Eagles doubled up on the fifth-seeded Colts in Delray Beach. Atlantic will face Parkland-Douglas in a semifinals matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m.

District 13-4A

Forest Hill 1, Dwyer 0: The top-seeded Falcons shut out the eighth-seeded Panthers and will face either Jensen Beach or Stuart-South Fork in a semifinals matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Jensen Beach.

Martin County 2, Suncoast 1: The sixth-seeded Tigers upset the third-seeded Chargers in Riviera Beach.

District 14-4A

Olympic Heights 1, Pompano Beach-Blanche Ely 0: The fourth-seeded Lions shut out the fifth-seeded Tigers in Boca Raton. Olympic Heights will face Boynton Beach in a semifinals matchup Wednesday at 8 p.m.

District 13-3A

Benjamin 5, Pahokee 0: Christian Baldari scored two goals and had one assist, Cameron Murphy added one goal, and goalie Zander Valentini earned the shutout as the third-seeded Buccaneers blanked the sixth-seeded Blue Devils in Palm Beach Gardens. Benjamin will face King’s Academy in a semifinals matchup Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Oxbridge 1, Cardinal Newman 0 (2OT): Olivier Grubb scored the lone goal with 10 seconds remaining in double-overtime, and goalie David Hall grabbed five saves for the shutout as the fourth-seeded ThunderWolves edged the fifth-seeded Crusaders in West Palm Beach. Oxbridge will face American Heritage in a semifinals matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m.

District 11-1A

Glades Day 4, Lake Worth Christian 1: Alex Acosta scored two goals and J.J. Hernandez and Colton DesRochers each contributed one goal as the third-seeded Gators defeated the sixth-seeded Defenders in Belle Glade. Glades Day will face either Berean Christian or Atlantic Christian Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Jupiter Christian 2, Somerset Canyons 0: Ben Barber scored a goal and had one assist, Andrew Steinfeld added one goal, and goalie Angel Canon grabbed nine saves for the shutout as the fourth-seeded Eagles (4-6-4) blanked the fifth-seeded Cougars in Jupiter. The Eagles will face Trinity Christian Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
