Boys basketball: No. 4 Forest Hill holds off No. 5 Palm Beach Lakes

Philip Lyttle had 21 points and 12 rebounds, leading the fourth-ranked Forest Hill boys basketball team to a 67-60 victory over No. 5 Palm Beach Lakes in a District 13-8A semifinal Wednesday in Palm Beach Gardens.

D’Ante Daniels added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the second-seeded Falcons (24-3) against the third-seeded Rams.

No. 2 Wellington 75, Jupiter 48: Bryan Williams scored 24 points and Linton Brown contributed 18, leading the top-seeded Wolverines (26-0) to the rout of the fourth-seeded Warriors in a District 9-9A semifinal in Wellington.

Boca Raton 72, No. 3 Lake Worth 51: Cade Long scored 38 points and Max Demeus had 18 points, as the fifth-seeded Bobcats upset the top-seeded Trojans in a District 10-9A semifinal in Boca Raton.

No. 6 Inlet Grove 61, Cardinal Newman 48: Kevin Anders and Dante Moses each scored 16 points, and J.T. Shevelon added 10 as the third-seeded Hurricanes (18-7) defeated the second-seeded Crusaders in a District 11-5A semifinal in West Palm Beach.

No. 9 Suncoast 48, Fort Pierce Westwood 27: McClembi Geffard had eight points and 10 rebounds, and Jacoby Box added eight points, as the second-seeded Chargers (16-6) shut down the third-seeded Panthers in the District 15-6A semifinals in Port St. Lucie.

Benjamin 69, Fort Pierce-John Carroll 52: Ben Lubarsky made five 3-pointers and scored 31 points and Kaiir Elam chipped in 13 as the North second-seeded Buccaneers handled the North top-seeded Golden Rams in a District 5-4A semifinal in Fort Lauderdale.

John I. Leonard 61, Palm Beach Central 54: Jerquan Worthen scored 18 points and Wylon Hamilton added 14, leading the third-seeded Lancers held off the second-seeded Broncos in a District 9-9A semifinal in Wellington.

Oxbridge Academy 45, King’s Academy 31: AJ Cajuste scored 12 points and Troy Joseph put up eight, helping the top-seeded ThunderWolves handle the fifth-seeded Lions in the District 11-5A semifinals in West Palm Beach.


Cardinal Newman 10, Palm Beach Lakes 3: Eliza Herbst was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and Sarah Polak struck out 11 as the Crusaders (2-0) handled the Rams in West Palm Beach.
