Boys basketball: Cardinal Newman wins pair, Inlet Grove wins


Cardinal Newman 65, West Boca Raton 33: Emmanuel Onuama scored 22 points, Peter Igwilo added 11 points and Castra Gedeon, Jr. contributed eight points as the Crusaders (7-7) improved to .500, overpowering the Bulls in Boca Raton.

LATE SATURDAY

Cardinal Newman 52, King’s Academy 46: Emmanuel Onuama scored 21 points and Chris Kent added seven points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Crusaders (6-7) got past the Lions in West Palm Beach. Calvin Johnson scored 19 points in the loss.

No. 9 Inlet Grove 48, Coral Springs-J.P. Taravella 43: The Hurricanes (13-6) defeated the Trojans at the Third Annual South Tournament in Coral Springs.
