Basketball: No. 9 West Boca girls hold off No. 5 Wellington

Shikal Gillion had 10 points and seven rebounds, helping No. 9 West Boca Raton to a 51-44 victory over No. 5 Wellington in a girls basketball showdown Wednesday in Wellington.

Haley Prouty added 10 points for the Bulls (12-3).

No. 2 Oxbridge Academy 66, Santaluces 43: Hailey Howerth scored 18 points and Aalyiah Stanley added 14 and Kaylon Smith contributed 15 as the Thunderwolves routed the Chiefs (12-6) in Lantana. For Santaluces, Whitney Howell had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Heaven Sanders added 10 points.

Suncoast 58, Atlantic 46: Claire Whalen’s 12 points helped the Chargers (6-8) defeat the Eagles (3-11) in Delray Beach. Markayla Clinton scored 19 points for Atlantic.


St. Andrew’s 57, American Heritage 37: Jammy Pierre Louis had 18 points and five rebounds and Marcus Pelissier added 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Scots (11-4) rolled over the Stallions in Boca Raton. Aamir Justice scored 17 points for Heritage.
