American Heritage got goals from five different players and cruised to a 5-0 victory over Jacksonville-Bolles in the Class 2A state championship match Thursday afternoon in Deland. Heritage kept the Bolles (15-3-3) goalkeeper busy, putting 20 shots on goal – to 13 by Bolles.

The championship caps a return to glory for the senior-laden Stallions (20-3-1), who played in six state finals between 2004-11 but had not advanced past regionals since 2013.

Nicholas Lodovico scored first for Heritage and Alexandre Guichard made it 2-0 at halftime. Douglas Phillips, Nicholas Marchionni and Giovanni Fraser all tallied second-half goals. Brian Lopez made four saves for the shutout.
