With the Wisconsin Badgers’ failure to make the 2018 NCAA Tournament, the West Virginia Mountaineers have the nation’s longest streak of consecutive appearances in bowl season and March Madness.
The Mountaineers haven’t missed the postseason in the country’s two biggest college sports since 2013. It’s not a particularly long streak, but it’s still good enough for the nation’s longest.
West Virginia would be tied with conference mate Baylor if the Bears had made this year’s iteration of the NCAA Tournament.

The Mountaineer basketball team finished third in the Big 12 regular season, and fell to Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament finals, 81-70.
West Virginia is a 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and will take on 12 seed Murray State on Friday, March 16, 2018.
