WATCH: Snow in The Swamp: Winter weather hits Gainesville

It’s January, and it’s cold in Florida. That’s one thing out of the ordinary.

And on Wednesday, it started snowing, and that’s way out of the ordinary, even during the winter.

As snowstorms hit throughout the east coast on Wednesday, Gainesville found itself underneath lots of falling flurries. And the Florida Gators football Twitter account made sure to capture the strange scene as the snow descended into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

It looks like pretty significant flurries, but no word yet from the Gators on if the green field has turned white just yet.
