As 2018 rosters begin to crystallize following Wednesday’s National Signing Day, the Washington Huskies checked in at No. 4 in the latest S&P+ rankings.

Bill Connelly of SB Nation explains what exactly the S&P+ rankings entail:

The preseason  S&P+ projections are a simple mix of three factors: recent history, returning production, and recruiting. To come up with 130-team projections, I create projected ratings based on each factor. Here’s how the process works:

The Huskies sit behind only Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson in the latest edition of the rankings. They ranked 17th in recruiting impact and 2nd in returning production.
