Report: Texas A&M contract for Jimbo Fisher ‘informally approved’

While Jimbo Fisher’s decision to either stay at Florida State or head to Texas A&M hangs in the balance, Texas A&M’s board of regents appear to be all in on landing his services for next year and beyond.

According to TexAgs.com’s Billy Liucci, the board of regents have “informally approved” a contract for Fisher should he decide to take the job in College Station after eight seasons in Tallahassee.

As Texas A&M BOR meeting comes to an end, I'm told it's all systems go in Aggies' pursuit of Jimbo Fisher.

Translation: Contract informally approved. I'm still expecting Fisher-to-A&M on Sunday.

The Seminoles play Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, with a win extending its three-and-a-half decade postseason run. Fisher told media members on Thursday that he does expect to be coaching the team in that game, even with the rumors of him going to Texas A&M abounding.

The “will he or won’t he” saga of Jimbo Fisher has gone on for several days. It appears that soon enough – as soon as Sunday, according to reports – we will finally get a resolution.
