Florida State has had its struggles this season. Currently sitting at 3-6, it must win its remaining three games to extend its 35-year bowl qualification streak.
The Seminoles’ opponent on Saturday? FCS team Delaware State, which figured to be an easy fourth win for Jimbo Fisher and his team. With not even half of the first quarter elasped, it certainly looks as if it is trending that way.
The Seminoles needed seven plays and three-and-a-half minutes to find the scoreboard on a Jacques Patrick 14-yard touchdown run. On the Hornets’ ensuing possession, they drove into field goal range and set up for a 42-yard kick to attempt to cut into the Florida State lead.
The Seminoles special teams unit, though, had other ideas.
