Bobby Bowden not sure Jimbo Fisher will leave Florida State for Texas A&M

In 2007, with Bobby Bowden’s eventual retirement looming, the decision was made to name then-offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher as coach-in-waiting at Florida State. Bowden’s departure would come after the 2009 season following a disappointing 7-6 campaign.

So what does the former Seminoles coaching legend think Fisher’s next move is with the latter being surrounded by rumors of a possible move to Texas A&M? According to an interview with the Tallahassee Democrat, even Bowden isn’t sure of Fisher’s next move.

Like the rest of Seminole Nation, Bowden is asking himself the same question. Does Jimbo Fisher stay at FSU or two-step to Texas A&M?

“I can’t read it,” Bowden said. “I still can’t believe yet he will leave.”

With Texas A&M firing Kevin Sumlin on Monday, Fisher’s name has been atop the Aggies’ list. If he ends up in College Station, it could start a domino effect that will touch several other programs across the country.
