Meanwhile, Boca Raton attorney James Herb’s quest to have Trump declared incompetent has come to an end. UPDATE, 1:10 p.m.: At a press conference in advance of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s summit with President Donald Trump, Trump’s top economic advisor discussed the U.S.’ potential re-entry into the Trans Pacific Partnership.

Larry Kudlow said trade disputes with China are different from the Partnership.

“China is a first-world economy behaving like a third world economy,” Kudlow said at the West Palm Beach Airport Hilton. “They have to start playing by the rules.”

UPDATE, 8:42 a.m.: Happy tax day! The president posted his first tweets from this visit to Mar-a-Lago and they are about..taxes. Your taxes, not his.

The president still has not released his own tax returns. Although Trump is not required to do so, since the early 1970s, most presidents have chosen to release their returns publicly.

Trump said during the 2016 presidential race that he wouldn’t release them because of an IRS audit, but the IRS has said that audits don’t prevent people from releasing their own tax information.

Today would be a good day to read a Palm Beach Post investigation of how the president avoided IRS scrutiny and got a $5.7 million tax deduction by intentionally leaving out details of a deal he made to convert Mar-A-Lago into a private club.
