Trump News Today: President tweets praise for new book by Christian actress


In what is likely to be the furthest reaching book-launch shout-out ever, President Donald Trump used his Twitter account this morning to promote to his 47.8 million followers the newly released book by Christian actress Roma Downey. 

Downey’s new book, Box of Butterflies: Discovering the unexpected blessings all around us, was released on Tuesday. Downey, 57, is best known for her role as the angel and employee of Tess (played by Della Reese), on the CBS television series Touched by an Angel.

She produced the mini-series, The Bible, for the History Channel and also starred in it, as Mary, the mother of Jesus.

As President of Lightworkers Media, the family and faith division of MGM, Downey, who together with her husband, Mark Burnett produced the feature films, Ben-Hur starring Jack Huston, Toby Kebbell and Morgan Freeman.

It is the second public bump the president has recently given the Christian power-couple. The president also praised the couple at the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb. 8.
