Parkland school shooting: Trump to meet with students this week


President Donald Trump will reportedly hold a listening session with students this week following Wednesday's deadly school shooting that took the lives of 17 students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County.

A White House schedule says Trump will host students and teachers Wednesday. He’s also scheduled to meet Thursday with state and local officials on school safety.

The White House did not immediately answer questions about what students would be attending the session.

Students who survived the shooting in Parkland have focused their anger on the president, urging him and other elected officials to do something about gun violence.

The president saw victims at a hosptial in Deerfield Beach, then met with first responders at the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale on Friday. But he did not go near Parkland, where emotions are still raw.
