Protesters arrested as Trump and China’s president arrive in Palm Beach

Three protesters were arrested Thursday afternoon for obstruction, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said, when the three tried to run into, or in front of, the motorcade bringing Chinese president Xi Jinping from Palm Beach International Airport to the Eau Resort and Spa in Manalapan. Xi has meetings with President Donald Trump just up the road at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound. The three were intercepted before they got into the roadway and no one was hurt, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. Authorities did not report any issues when Trump arrived at PBIA a short time later and took his own motorcade to Mar-a-Lago. Both motorcades had traveled east on Southern Boulevard to State Road A1A. Palm Beach police reported no incidents. This story will be updated.
