Report: Trump signs order to keep Guantanamo Bay open

As President Trump gave his State of the Union address tonight, a new executive order was issued that rescinds President Obama's 2009 promise to close the Guantanamo Bay prison facility in Cuba.

The order suggested that more detainees could join the 41 remaining at Guantanamo, which was opened in the wake of the 9/11 attacks to hold suspected terrorists, the Washington Post reported

Of the more than 700 prisoners held there since 2002, only a handful have been charged with a crime and even fewer tried, the Post reported.
