UPDATE: Southbound I-95 lanes reopen near Martin-Palm Beach line

A three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon, Nov. 20, 2017, blocked all southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the Martin and Palm Beach County line and sent two people to a trauma center by helicopter, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

5 p.m. UPDATE: All southbound lanes of Interstate 95 have been cleared near the Martin and Palm Beach County line, the Florida Department of Transportation reports.

4:40 p.m. UPDATE: One lane remained blocked on southbound Interstate 95 as emergency response crews continue to clear the scene of crash involving three vehicles near the Martin and Palm Beach County line.

Traffic remains backed up from Mile Marker 90 until Mile Marker 92 in Hobe Sound, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Two people were flown to a trauma center following the crash, which happened at about 3 p.m.

Original story: A three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon blocked all southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the Martin and Palm Beach County line and sent two people to a trauma center by helicopter, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

Crews responded at about 3 p.m. near mile marker 89, between the Indiantown Road and Bridge Road exits. The first arriving crews reported a three-vehicle crash with multiple injuries, said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Fire Rescue.

All lanes were closed so that rescue crews could land the Trauma Hawk helicopter, Borroto said.
