Riviera Beach girls gymnastics team captures several honors

The City of Palm Beach Gardens is accepting registration for its Masters Swimming Program with all skill levels welcome. Open to adults age 18 and up at the tri-athlete, competitive and noncompetitive level, practices are held Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. now through Dec. 20 and will resume after the new year. The Gym Like This! of Riviera Beach Girls Competitive Gymnastics Team captured several honors at two meets last month. At the Celebrate America Invitational in Lake Worth Oct. 7 and Oct. 8, Level 1 team member Huckleberry Freisberg-Hickey tied for second place on bars. Level 2’s Shayla Stillwaggon placed second on vault, Callie Nelson placed third on beam and floor and Amanda Thompson placed third on vault.

At the Fright Night Invite in Coral Springs Oct. 21, Level 4’s Jada McDonald placed third on beam and second for the all-around, a trifecta for Viveka Brown as she placed first on vault, second on floor and third for the all-around, and Fabiana Rodriguez captured first place on the beam. Level 5 team member Sophia Roberts placed third on the vault, second for the all-around and tied for third on the beam. Kayla Calma placed second on beam and tied for third on floor, Maggie Hall placed first on beam and second on floor, Iliana Tater placed third on bars and tied for third on floor, and the team took home a first-place banner in the Teams Division. The Jupiter-Tequesta Athletic Association is accepting registration for spring recreational and travel basketball and winter lacrosse. Basketball is available for boys ages 7 to 17 and girls ages 7 to 13 with a $120 registration fee, and lacrosse for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 with fees ranging from $100 to $180. Horseback riding along the beaches of St. Lucie County’s Hutchinson Island is available weekends or weekdays through Tours on Horseback.
