PHOTOS: Opossum breaks into woman’s home, refuses to leave, PBSO says

It’s not every day that someone encounters an opossum burglar.

An elderly woman called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office when an opossum broke into her room on Monday and “refused to leave,” the Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page.

The incident happened at a home west of Boynton Beach, PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.

Deputies took the baby possum “into custody without incident” and released him back to his parents safely, the sheriff’s office said.
