The Palmer is one of the resort’s five courses and is mostly used by tourists. It’s the Champion Course that hosts the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic every February.

The Arnold Palmer Design Company advised PGA National on the changes to the course named after “The King.” Here are the highlights, according to the resort:

-All bunkers have been modernized and reshaped to improve sight lines off the tee and approach shots into the greens.

-All fairways have new turf, scientifically-advanced Celebration grass that offers prime playing conditions year-round.

-There are multiple tee-boxes on all the holes.

-All of the greens were rebuilt and given new grass to honor the shape and contours of Palmer’s original design.

The renovation added more than half an acre to the putting surfaces, allowing more pin placements for tournaments and day-to-day play, according to PGA National.

Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Maria Marino, an LPGA pro, attended.

Madison Moman, an elite junior golfer who recently appeared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, took the first swing.
