You could say Teresa Sutton’s gown was Florida-grown.
Teresa Sutton, the wife of Florida Congressional District 22 Chairman Bob Sutton, was among the attendees of the Florida Sunshine Ball on Wednesday night, a lavish event held by Gov. Rick Scott to celebrate President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday.
And Sutton’s gown seemed to fit in with the theme — a celebration of all things Florida.
The dress, white with black details, was designed by Palm Beach County resident Karen Williams Nottage. Sutton said she was excited to wear a dress from a local designer: “It provides them exposure. And it’s absolutely gorgeous,” she said, braving 40-degree D.C. temperatures and taking off her coat to show off the gown as she waited in line to get into the ball.

Nottage told our news partners at WPTV NewsChannel 5 that the dress features Italian lace.
“That whole silouette came to light and I just started drawing and I said this is what I want to create,” Nottage told WPTV.
To dress Sutton, Nottage entered and won a competition held by Palm Beach International Fashion Week producer Lilyana LoVela. According to a Facebook post from Nottage, more than 50 designers from across the country submitted gowns.
