NEW: Woman, 94, arrested after rushing in front of Xi’s wife’s motorcade

A 94-year-oldwoman was arrested at midday Thursday after she allegedly tried to lie in the road in front of the car carrying of the wife of Chinese president Xi Jinping, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident marked the sixth such arrest in two days.

The motorcade transporting Madame Peng Liyuan and first lady Melania Trump to Mar-A-a-Lago after a visit to the Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach was at Southern Boulevard and Lake Avenue when the woman “jumped into the middle of the road” in front of Peng’s car, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.

She said the obstruction nearly cause a motorcycle deputy to go down and other deputies had to run into the roadway to hustle the woman out of the way of the motorcade. The woman, identified as Chun Yan Wang, was charged with obstructing a roadway.

The two first ladies had arrived at Bak around 11 a.m. and visited for about an hour..

Five people were arrested Thursday after they allegedly tried to block Chinese president Xi’s motorcade as the Chinese leader arrived at the Eau, where demonstrators both supporting and protesting the Chinese regime had gathered. Those five never got into the roadway, Barbera said.
