NEW: What’s going in at former Wellington Buca di Beppo site?

A new restaurant being built on the site of the former Buca di Beppo in Wellington is inching closer to completion.

Crews are constructing the new home of Fort Lauderdale-based Kaluz, with the building’s outer shell beginning to take shape over the past several days.

In the Nextdoor app, a post inquiring about the new building was one of the top items Wednesday, with several people saying they look forward to trying Kaluz, as others decried the loss of Buca di Beppo.

Buca, an Italian family-style restaurant, closed in 2015. The building was set on fire on July 4, 2016, in what originally was reported as a fireworks-related incident but investigators later said was arson.
