PHOTOS: See Lion Country Safari’s newest baby animal

A baby has joined the herd of Asiatic water buffalo at Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, the park announced Friday.

The male is the first water buffalo born at the drive-through safari this year and the 24th member of Lion Country Safari’s herd. Two calves were born to the herd last year.

He was born Feb. 24 in the 320-acre preserve’s Gir Forest, the park said. 

It was the second baby to arrive at Lion Country Safari last month: A baby giraffe was born Feb. 4. Park staff named her Kimberlina.
