A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Riviera Beach on charges of desertion from the U.S. Army, according to jail records and authorities.

Tyler Michael Allen, 20, was booked Aug. 30 at the Palm Beach County Jail under a hold for the U.S. Army Deserter Information Point in Kentucky.

U.S. Army spokeswoman Elizabeth Chamberlain said Friday she could confirm only that Allen entered the Army in January and “his dates of service were until June 2018. Following his training he served 28 days on active duty. He was a private and in the infantry.”

Chamberlain would not say where Allen was stationed or when or where he deserted or the circumstances. She also will not say if he is back in military custody.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Monday the lead in Allen’s case was from Waco, Texas, and that he was arrested in Riviera Beach.

The Marshals Service said it believed he remained in the Palm Beach County Jail as of Monday morning.

Allen’s arrest listing has been deleted from the jail booking database since his Aug. 30 arrest. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said federal records “are exempt from the booking blotter.”
