The wait is over for crafters, decorators and sewers holding out for a Hobby Lobby in northern Palm Beach County.
The craft store at 1220 Northlake Blvd. had a soft opening Dec. 26 and a grand opening Jan. 1. It’s next door to a Burlington that opened in September in the same plaza as Chick-fil-A.
The strip mall was home to Kmart before it closed and a Rooms To Go outlet that moved down the street.
Both Hobby Lobby and Burlington had planned to open in August, but Hobby Lobby ran into “some unforeseen delays in acquiring permits” that pushed back the opening.
Another Hobby Lobby opened in Royal Palm Beach in January 2017. The first one in Palm Beach County opened in a shopping plaza west of Boca Raton in 2014.
