New frozen yogurt shop with familiar name coming to Wellington

Wellington is getting another frozen yogurt and ice cream shop -- and this one comes with a hint of familiarity.

Brendy’s Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream will open within the next month in the Wellington Marketplace at the corner of Greenview Shores Boulevard and Wellington Trace. The shop previously was in the Towne Square at Wellington Plaza at South Shore and Forest Hill boulevards.

Co-owner Seikh Kowser said the new Brendy’s Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream will offer 48 to 50 ice cream flavors and 10 to 11 flavors of frozen yogurt with a variety of toppings. The ice cream will be kosher, Kowser said.

The shop is next to Rocky’s Ace Hardware, on the opposite end of the plaza from the Movies at Wellington theater. Brown paper covers the storefront’s windows with signs that say, “Coming Soon ... Brendy’s Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream.”

Residents should look for promotions coming up when the store opens, including buy-one-get-one-free deals, and free ice cream and frozen yogurt for first responders and veterans, Kowser said.

The Brendy’s in Wellington is not affiliated with the Brendy’s chain that has locations in southern Palm Beach County.
