NEW: Florida man finds human skull while mowing lawn


A Central Florida man trying to clean up the road near his home discovered a human skull on Sunday.

Raul Leon, of Osteen, was atop a riding lawn mower when he saw the skull and some other items, according to the Daytona Beach News Journal.

“I’m freaking,” Leon told a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher according to the News Journal. “That thing scared the crap out of me. I’ve never seen anything like that.”

The area where the skull, backpack and clothing were found is near a canal and on abandoned property, the sheriff’s report stated.
