The safety event, a partnership between Wellington’s Community Services Department and JCPenney, took place in the store’s parking lot at the Mall at Wellington Green. About 250 people showed up for the event, which also included safety and self-defense demonstrations.

Children were able to interact with first responders from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue while learning about proper bike-riding techniques and other safety tips.
