There’s plenty of entertainment

Who needs a babysitter when there are so many great activities for kids? Children 15 years old and younger get into the tournament free with an adult every day, but Tire Kingdom Family Day on Saturday includes extra fun for the youngest fans.

The first 1,500 kids will get a giant orange golf ball  to collect autographs from their favorite golfers. Kids can enjoy  games and contests from noon to 8 p.m. at the Kids Zone at the Honda Pavilion. Parents and kids alike can get autographs at the autograph zone outside the pro shop.

Don’t miss the fireworks spectacular 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday after the concerts at the Michelob ULTRA Terrace.

Going to see Tiger Woods? As for whether Tiger will make the cut to move onto play the final 36 holes this weekend, we’ll know more about that later Friday.

If you don’t already have tickets to Goslings Bear Trap, you’re out of luck

Tickets for Goslings Bear Trap and Cobra Puma Golf Village are sold out for Friday and Saturday and close to a sell-out Sunday. Instead, consider the free Devonshire Wine Garden or the FPL Patio, both on the 17th hole. The Michelob ULTRA Club on the 18th tee box has an over-sized patio and an air-conditioned area, a nice bonus with temperatures expected to be in the 80s.

There are certain items you should leave at home

Leave the backpacks, portable chair bags, over-sized chairs and cameras at home. Regular bags (purses, ladies) can’t be larger than  6"x 6"x 6." Clear bags can be a little larger - 12"x 6"x 12." Don’t test the limits - this rule is enforced.

All fans will be checked by metal detectors before they get on the shuttles from parking areas.

Oh, and be sure to keep your cellphone on silent. Remember, no picture-taking of the competition areas during rounds is allowed.

DO bring a hat and sunglasses, sunscreen, plenty of water, a windbreaker and an umbrella.

The weather should be decent.

Forecasts for both Saturday and Sunday call for sun with some clouds and a chance of showers. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 80s.

Parking prices vary.
