Have design ideas for Lake Worth? City wants them by Nov. 2


1. Design competition: The city is calling for all designers and planners to look at Lake Worth with fresh eyes and to envision what the city’s Cultural Arts District might look like. Submissions will be showcased at a formal gallery opening and will be available to residents, entrepreneurs, property owners, investors to view. Submission deadline is Nov. 2. There are also awards — $1,500, $1,200 and $1,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for a professional category and awards — $1,000, $700 and $500 for student category. 2. “Coco”: Bring a blanket or some chairs for a free showing of this popular Disney film on Sept. 21 at Hatch, 1121 Lucerne Avenue. The film starts at 8 p.m.

3. Lake Ave Block Party: Live music and vendors on Oct. 5. from 6 to 10 p.m. Also look for a car and bike show. The event will be held on the first Friday each month.
