The U.S. 1 bridge in Jupiter, the one planned for a $120 million replacement in about four years, was closed to traffic Wednesday for about one-half hour.
Traffic was blocked in both directions from 12:09 - 12:35 p.m., according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
FDOT officials are working to determine the cause for the Wednesday closure of the bridge located just north of Burt Reynolds Park.
Replacing the busy, four-lane drawbridge between Jupiter and Tequesta is expected to take between three to four years, depending on what construction method is used.
Construction is planned to start in July 2021.
