MUSIC IN THE GARDENS

A weekly Friday night live jazz series “Jazz in the Gardens” begins Friday with nationally known trumpeter Carle Wayne Vickers and New York-based pianist Mark Doyle. The concerts will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Friday at the PGA Arts Center, 4076 PGA Blvd. Tickets are $15 and include hors d’oeuvres. Beer and wine will be for sale. The South Florida Society for Arts & Culture created the series and is seeking weekly sponsors, food and merchandise vendors and jazz performers. The final round concert of Palm Beach Gardens’ Got Talent Show is 7 p.m. Saturday at the PGA Arts Center, 4076 PGA Blvd. The contest is open to singers, musicians, dancers, comedians, spoken word artists, rappers and people with other talents of all ages. The first place winner will get a prize of $200 and be a featured artist at the PGA Arts Center. The concert is also a fundraiser benefiting autism awareness. PANTHER PROWL

The We Are Dwyer Foundation welcomes runners and walkers to the Panther Prowl 5K and a 1-mile fun walk 7:30 a.m. Sept. 29 at Dwyer High School, 13601 N. Military Trail. Registration is $30. Each participant will get a T-shirt and swag bag. The event raises money for the We Are Dwyer Foundation, which awards grants to support projects by teachers, staff and the administration.
