FWC: Boat capsizes in Lake Worth Inlet, one person sent to hospital

A boat capsized in the Lake Worth Inlet at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, sending one person to the hospital, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.

Six people were on the boat, according to FWC spokesman Tyson Matthews, and all were in the water when officials arrived on the scene.

Matthews said one person was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center but did not comment on the extent of that person’s injuries. The other five people were uninjured, Matthews said.

The boat was an 18-21 foot center-console boat, Matthews said.

Officers from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the scene in addition to FWC, Matthews said, but FWC will be taking over the investigation.

No further information was released.
