An abandoned houseboat, one of many derelict vessels Jupiter residents have complained about floating and sunk in Jupiter waterways, has washed ashore at Burt Reynolds Park West.

The beige houseboat, about 35 feet long, was anchored Thursday afternoon about 100 feet off shore, just north of the public boat docks.
An orange tag issued by Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department has been placed on the vessel.
The tag reads the vessel is considered abandoned property and will be removed within 24 hours after the tag was posted on the boat.
The tag was post on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11:25 a.m.
Some Jupiter residents say the abandoned boats are dangerous to boaters and kayakers. They say they boats spill chemicals into the waterways.
Jupiter officials say they have removed six derelict vessels in Jupiter have been removed since 2016. They are working to remove more, they said at a recent town council meeting.
