The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has identified two people who were shot to death Friday afternoon in suburban West Palm Beach and a third who was found in critical condition.
Sylvie Louis, 54, and Javonte Carter, 22, were found dead at a residence in the 2900 block of Hiawatha Avenue in the Westgate neighborhood. Jenny Pierre-Louis, 21, remains in critical condition, according to PBSO.
Records show that Sylvie Louis is the mother of Jenny Pierre-Louis and that they lived together at the Hiawatha Avenue address.
PBSO said that all three were knew each other, but it’s not known what connection Carter, who is from Stuart, has to the two women.
The shooting took place at about 4 p.m. in the neighborhood, west of Congress Avenue and north of Belvedere Road.
When PBSO deputies arrived at the scene, they found Sylvie Louis deceased outside the home on the dead-end road.
The motive behind the shootings remained under investigation Tuesday and the sheriff’s office did not say if it believes anyone else is involved.
Prior to Friday’s shooting, there have been 17 confirmed homicides in Palm Beach County in 2018, according to a Palm Beach Post online database.
