BREAKING: Diver dies in Jupiter, authorities say


A man who was diving in the waters off Jupiter late Thursday afternoon has died, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reports. 

Paramedics responded shortly before 5 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Alternate State Road A1A, near Sawfish Bay Park, as an unresponsive diver was brought in by a dive boat.

The dive boat crew told paramedics that the diver had been under water for an extended period of time, said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Fire Rescue. 

The diver was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His name and age were not disclosed Thursday night. 

No other details were released late Thursday.
