According to a report, the 18-foot boat hit rough waves and tried to turn around, but it hit the trough of a wave and was swamped, then overturned, throwing all six people into the water.
The people grabbed onto the boat and called for help. Palm Beach County sheriff’s marine units responded and pulled everyone out.
Cajiao was found under water and was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
The other five people, ranging in age from 8 to 58, were unhurt.
The report does not say if anyone wore life jackets.
