Actor Burt Reynolds was transported to the hospital just before 1 p.m. Thursday after experiencing difficulty breathing and chest pains, according to a 911 call released by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
He was at his Tequesta home, 16815 S.E. Federal Highway, when a caretaker called the Martin County Sheriff’s Communication Center at 12:47 p.m.
“I have an 82-year-old male, he is experiencing difficulty breathing and chest pains,” the caretaker told the operator.
The caretaker told the 911 operator that Reynolds was not breathing normally and not answering any questions. He wasn’t changing color but he was clammy and having cold sweats.
Reynolds had a bypass “a few years ago,” the caretaker also told the operator, who then gave further instructions. Sheriff’s deputies and fire rescue were dispatched to Reynolds’ home, and he was transported to a hospital.
A Jupiter Medical Center spokeswoman had “no comment” when asked if Reynolds was taken to that hospital. Reynolds’ manager Erik Kritzer told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor died Thursday.
