The George Snow Scholarship Fund will sponsor its 24th Cowboy Ball, 6-11 p.m. Feb. 25 at at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton. The evening includes food from several restaurants, whisky tasting, square dancing, line dancing, an auction and mechanical bull rides. Tickets to the ball are $175 per person. A charity raffle offers a grand prize of $5,000, and tickets are available for purchase by guests as well as those not attending the festivities. Florida Power & Light Co. is accepting applications for its annual $20,000 STEM education college scholarship. The scholarship application period will run through Feb. 15. To qualify, a student must have participated for two or more years in a FIRST robotics program in FPL’s service area; have a cumulative GPA of 3.5; and have been accepted to an accredited four-year college or university majoring in engineering or information technology.
