PALM BEACH GARDENS ELEMENTARY

The 10th annual Bingo Night begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The cost per game card is $5 or a donation of a new, unwrapped toy. Pizza, drinks and desserts will be available for purchase. Money and toys collected will be donated to Place of Hope, an area organization that supports foster children.

ALLAMANDA ELEMENTARY

The school is celebrating the holiday season 5-7 p.m. Dec. 13 with gingerbread houses, hot chocolate, pizza and photos with Santa. Call the school at 561-803-7200 for more information..

Fundraising events coming up: Shop at Lilly Pulitzer at The Gardens Mall, 2-6 p.m. Dec. 7 and 10 percent of the total sales will benefit Allamanda’s Health and Wellness Program. The same day, dine to donate at BRIO Tuscan Grille. Mention Allamanda and 10 percent of sales will come back to the school. Call the school for more information.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate in the Hanley Foundation ArtiGras Youth Art Competition. Students can submit their artwork through their school’s art teacher until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Winners will be announced at noon on Feb. 17, the first day of Artigras. All finalists will have their works on display at the festival. Students and teachers can email info@artigras.org or call 561-746-7111 for more information.

Applications are being accepted for the more than 300 Choice Programs and Career Academies at 117 district schools. Parents can complete the online application at www.palmbeachschools.org/choiceprograms, or may download a hard copy in English, Creole, Portuguese or Spanish at www.palmbeachschools.org/choiceprograms/application/. The original application must be mailed or delivered to the Department of Choice and Career Options with a postmark no later than Jan. 26 for most Choice programs.

Performing arts programs, which require an audition score in addition to the eligibility criteria and have a Friday deadline application date, are: Bak Middle School of the Arts; The Conservatory School @ North Palm Beach, Music-Band, Music-Orchestral Strings and Music-Vocal for grades six to eight; Boynton Beach High Arts Program; and Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts.

The Choice and Career Academy lottery will be held the week of March 6, and applicants will receive the status of their application on March 31.

TREASURE COAST SCHOOLS

HOBE SOUND EARLY LEARNING CENTER

The school, 11580 SE Gomez Ave., Hobe Sound, is a drop-off location for Toys for Tots Holiday/White Doves Project. New, unwrapped toys can be taken to the school between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 15. Toys for youngsters up to age 15 will be distributed in the Martin County area.

BRIEFLY

Students in the St. Lucie Public Schools Exceptional Student Education program are operating a kiosk that sells coffee, pastries and bagels by the first-floor breezeway of the St. Lucie County Administration Complex. The kiosk, run by students from Port St. Lucie High and Fort Pierce Westwood High, is open 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.
