Gardens school on lockdown after nearby bomb scare

71 PBC schools accepting open-enrollment students next year

Parents seeking to enroll their children in a school other than the one they are assigned to by boundary can look this month to 71 elementary, middle and high schools in Palm Beach County with room to spare.

Because they are not full, these schools are required by the state’s open-enrollment policy, now in its second year, to accept students from outside their boundaries. See a list of schools  on the district’s website www.palmbeachschools.org. Apply online at www.mypbchoiceapp.com

The window to apply opened this week and closes April 30. If more students apply to a school than the school has seats, a lottery will assign students. The open-enrollment assignments will be posted May 11, 2019. Applying for open enrollment will not remove a student from any choice program wait pool.
