The school’s second annual golf tournament will be April 24 at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter. Golf legend Jack Nicklaus, The Bear’s Club founder and course designer, will kick off the tournament by hosting a golf clinic with PGA Tour professionals and the Oxbridge Academy Golf Team. Registration for the “shamble” format tournament is limited to the first 24 foursomes, and includes lunch, a post-tournament cocktail party, awards and prizes. “Rock of Ages” will be staged at 7 p.m. today and Friday and March 9-10. Tickets are $10 for students and senior citizens, $12.50 for all others. Audience members who come dressed in ’80s attire will be seated in the front row, and there will be prizes for the best dressed at every show.
School counselor Melissa Garcia recently attended the American School Counselor Association’s School Counselor of the Year celebration at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Following a recognition from keynote speaker Michelle Obama, the 50 state winners attended a dinner gala at Union Station, where Garcia was honored as the 2018 Florida School Counselor of the Year.
Deja Gamble’s original play “Reality?” was featured in the annual Palm Beach Dramaworks 10-minute student play competition. Gamble will receive a cash prize, have her work produced and directed by local Actors’ Equity performers, and earn publication in Dramaworks’ student play anthology.
Band students earned 48 “Superior”’ ratings in the 2018 Florida Bandmasters’ Association solo and ensemble music performance assessments, hosted last month on campus.

Eric Stern, K-12 Health and Physical Education Curriculum administrator for the School District of Palm Beach County, has been named the 2018 Channing Mann Physical Education Administrator of the Year by SHAPE America, the Society of Health and Physical Educators. He was selected for the award because of his work to support health and physical education at the national, state and local level, and for exemplifying the highest standards in accomplishment, innovation, and leadership. He will receive the award at the National SHAPE America conference in Nashville, Tenn., later this month.
The Palm Beach County Youth Services Department is accepting applications through April 13 for summer camp scholarships. The scholarship program offers eligible children ages 5-14, and a special population up to age 17, a full scholarship to day camp for the entire summer. The scholarship covers all tuition and fees for children residing in families with income at or below 150 percent of federal poverty guidelines.
